Welcome to Accell Animal Therapy where we believe good circulation is important for all creatures great and small. Accell Animal Therapy devices have been developed in Australia from the Niagara Therapy CVT class IIa medical devices that have been used by humans and animals to improve circulation, lymphatic drainage, joint mobility, relax muscles and much more since 1949.
First released as Canine Performance Systems in 2010 from an idea by a leading Victorian greyhound trainer to place our Niagara Therapy pad inside a foam cut out to create a therapy bed for a greyhound. Since then, countless hours have been spent developing Accell Animal Therapy as we know it today to provide optimum physical therapy solutions for all animals, no matter how big or small.
Accell Animal Therapy provides a simple and effective, reliable and repeatable physical therapy solution that is proven to improve circulation, improve lymphatic drainage, aid in wound healing and injury management, assist with joint mobility, relieve muscle and joint pain, relax muscles and increase nerve-muscle communication. Therapy applications are not just limited to performance use; Accell Animal Therapy devices are used by domestic pet owners, animal therapists, greyhound trainers and veterinary practices all around Australia and New Zealand.
The Accell Pro Series System represents hundreds of hours of ongoing research and development by our dedicated team! Accell Animal Therapy systems all deliver Cycloid Vibration Therapy (CVT) and are available for all creatures, great and small; we even have options for human application so everyone can enjoy the benefits of Accell Animal Therapy.
Accell Animal Therapy, along with Equissage Therapy and Niagara Therapy, is a division of Australian Therapeutic Solutions Pty Ltd. All Accell Animal Therapy devices are manufactured in the same facility and to the same high standards as Niagara Therapy products which are listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a Class IIa Medical Device and manufactured in our purpose-built Queensland facility before being shipped across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
Niagara Therapy has a diverse range of clients from the elderly, dealing with musculoskeletal pain, poor circulation and mobility issues. Australian sporting teams use the CVT to keep themselves in peak condition while assisting with injury rehabilitation and recovery. Equissage and Accell Animal Therapy systems use the same proven Cycloid Vibration Therapy technology as the Niagara Class IIa Medical Devices making them an ideal option for those serious about providing the very best for their horses and animals.
Niagara’s patented technology began in the coalfields of Canada in the 1920s. Miners discovered that by leaning against a vibratory coal separation machine, they achieved immediate relief for their aching backs and joints. Upon hearing this, the Wettlaufer Brothers, inventors, undertook formal research to develop this idea further. Using the mining equipment as a crude starting point, the brothers developed what is now known as ‘cycloid vibration technology.’ Cycloid Vibration Therapy is a unique energy wave created using a specialised 3-dimensional vibration motor and suspension system. As a result of their research and development, the Wettlaufer brothers were granted a US patent in 1931.
The potential of this life-changing technology was never fully realised until Mr Owen K. Murphy stumbled onto it in 1948, just after WWII. During the War, Murphy had served with the Medical Corps and envisioned a vast range of products utilising this new technology. He was so confident of its medical and commercial potential he paid USD$150,000 for the patent, and in 1949 Niagara was born.
The following decades saw Niagara expand its operations, where it began in Australia in 1969 and in New Zealand in 1985. Niagara, Equissage and Accell Animal Therapy CVT products are currently distributed across various territories throughout Australia, NZ & Asia by several dedicated distribution partners.
